OK. It's now November 1, and the Users Manual is still an absolute piece of crap! None of the icons are explained. The text refers to "buttons" and "slots", and other features and tools and so on and so forth that are never pointed out or descirbed at all.

The developers say, "STO is designed for everyone to enjoy." My Foot! No one can even understand how to use the damn thing! The only people who could possibly be enjoying this mess so far must be teenage high school drop-out morons with nothing else to do except waste their time screwing with this game.

Watch out, Star Trek fans. STO is very exciting and it seems to promise a great game ...eventually, in some hopefully near future, but NOT YET. Pleeeaaazzze don't plunk down ANY money for this thing until the developers start to "design" it --and document it-- for "everyone to enjoy". If you give them money for this now, I promise you that you will regret it!

I don't think it's necessary to say anything if the game was given free. That's how people get informed. If you are getting payed then yes, I agree with you on that. If you get it free just be as unbiased as possible and forget about how much you got payed. Personally, if I got a free game but it sucked I wouldn't leverage the review score based on the price I paid. Telling your readers that you got a game for free will make them automatically assume that if it's a high score, you are just basing that on the fact you got it for nothing. That's just my opinion though.

I see you have a blogroll as well. Are you interesting in a link swap? If so you can send an email my way. Thanks.

Something I'd just like to point out here, 6 months on from FE's release...

You're comparing a recently released title, by a small company, to a game developed by one of the leading games developers in the world, which has been around for 5 years (WoW) and a game with a very large production budget that suffered MASSIVE problems upon release (Aion)...

6 months on from it's Initial release, I've picked up Fallen Earth a second time (had a trial account shortly after release) after becoming incredibly disenchanted and frustrated with WoW's 'dumbing down' and the GOGOGO! mentality of it's increasinly immature player base...

You want something simple with hardly a learning curve (if anything, the curve is increasingly smaller), that you can level to max level in a matter of weeks (if not days) and be geared up for end-game content in potentially hours (Heroic grinding at <15mins a pop to buy badge gear), play WoW in all it's 5 years of refinement... WoW was FAR from as polished as it is now when it was first released (had consistent and constant problems for months which people/fan boys seem to forget), it has also undergone repeated graphics enhancement along the way...

Can't judge Aion's gameplay as I have not played it, and have no intention as everything I have read and heard suggests it's entirely PVP focused once you get past the initial starting areas, though it looks very pretty...

From what I saw of FE upon it's initial release (on a trial account) and what I've seen now... Icarus have made spectacular amendments and improvements to FE...

The graphics may not be as good as Aion (neither are WoW's for that matter) and it may not be as simple and the 'zerg-fest' steam rolling everything in sight like WoW, but FE is all about the game-play, the game lore and the whole world in which it takes place...

The intracasies and learning curve that FE has I feel are two of the games' best features, it appeals to a more mature (if not older) audience, and so far I have not heard one person talk about being sent to bed by mum or dad or needing to do homework... Children, husbands/wives and bad days at work are another matter... This is yet another appealing factor to anyone, like myself, who have become jaded with the growing levels of idiocy within the major MMO titles...

Before people quickly declare FE to be a piece of shit because it's not as pretty as Aion, or as 'refined' as veteran MMO, WoW, perhaps you should actually take the time to understand the game your vilifying as it's depth and detail are what make it a great, and ever improving MMO, that is very likely to take some shine out of the big titles...

Given that most of the biggest MMO releases that have seen over the top fanfare usually end up in the bargain bin (Conan given away free in Australia with a magazine even) with plummeting subscribers within about 6-8 months of release, Fallen Earth's still growing player base must show that Icarus have done something right and FE is indeed an MMO of considerably substance that's unlikely to dissapear into obscurity...

Unlike so many other bigger titles by major publishers...

Sorry I have played alot of different MMO's and nothing comes close to WoW. Although I do agree people are finding that they are running out of things to do on WoW but I take an exception to this because to do everything that can be done on WoW would take forever and people are just looking for new content to play. I think WoW will be around long after the rest of these games wither up and die. Why? Blizzard makes sure they have a solid game before they release it. They don't have a publisher pushing them to release a game by a certain date Blizzard takes the wait till it's done approach which I wish more companies would follow!
